MarcQus has over ten years of experience as a student affairs professional. He has served on numerous university search committees—from entry level positions to senior student affairs officers. On multiple occasions MarcQus has attended the Oshkosh Placement Exchange (OPE), The Placement Exchange (TPE), and Career Central at Convention (C3) as a candidate and employer. Over the years he has conducted hundreds of professional phone interviews, on-campus interviews, and web interviews. Through these experiences MarcQus hopes to provide new and aspiring student affairs professionals with information that will assist them in their job search process.

Currently, MarcQus serves as the Director of the Educational Support Program (TRIO/SSS) at Grand Valley State University*. In this role he works with first-generation and low-income students. The goal of the ESP program is to help students acclimate to college life, graduate, and attain employment or entry to graduate school. In addition to his primary role at GVSU, he also serves as an advisor to the GVSU chapter of the NAACP, staff mentor for the Black Male Scholars Initiative, and serves on the Advisory Board for GVSU Men In Action.
